Welcome
Situated south of Chichester, West Sussex the garden covers an area of roughly four and a half acres. Developed over a period of 20 years it now incorporates a number of different gardens blending into one another via wide expanses of grass.
Originally the whole site was a commercial glasshouse nursery. However, with changing times in the horticultural industry the glasshouses have been moved, opening up areas for the creation of the gardens you can see today.
From the laying out of a small patio the garden has evolved over the years without any specific design in mind. Different themes have developed as plants, trees and shrubs become mature and other inspirations take hold.
At Mazegarden we have been pleased to open, over the last four years, in aid of Perennial which is the only UK charity dedicated to helping horticulturists in need. The charity provides a range of support services for all who work in the industry including arborists, market gardeners, glasshouse growers, groundsmen and green keepers, nurserymen and of course, gardeners.

Founded in 1839, the traditional role of the charity was to provide help and accommodation to retired gardeners. Whilst still offering this level of help, it has now broadened its remit to include horticulturists of all ages and their families. Today, the aim of Perennial is to be the automatic first port of call in times of need for those who are still working in, retiring from or have worked in the world of horticulture.
